Belated Holidays!

Yeah, I should update a bit more. So for my holiday (which happens to be Christmas) the thing I got that stood out above everything else happens to be this thing:

In case you're wondering, his name (his actual factory name) is Clocky! And yes, he is an alarm clock with wheels. All I can say though is that it works! Very well! I woke up, chased it down, and when I turned it off, my first thought was "holy crap, I'm awake." Plus I got a tiny universal remote keychain. Turning off a tv at wal-mart that someone's watching is so fun.
All for now.
One last comment: Clocky looks a bit like Pintsize from QC!

Two posts in less than an hour...

Not usually one to post twice in one day, but I posted some new art on Deviantart! This one I thought of while sitting in Chemistry:

and this one, which I am a bit more proud of:

(wish I could have colored the Zune, but it was too small to do easily)
That's all for now. I'm gonna go get a Whopper.

Cool Things

Ok, so my friends showed me this great comic called Questionable Content. (not porn, don't worry.) Basically, well, I can't exactly explain the plot. Wikipedia describes it as a "slice of life" comic. Read a few pages, and you'll understand. Plus they talk about a lot of great bands, such as Mogwai, which is now one of my favorite bands. (Scottish, Post-Rock, what's better than that?) So much so that I bought their newest CD in Des Moines, along with a Dandy Warhols CD. Something just feels amazing about actually owning the CD, rather than having an invisible piece of data that you don't "actually own." With all that said, go read it, and go hear them! Do these things I say!

(now if only someone read this that didn't already read QC)

Sweet!

So I got a new composition book, and now I'm trying to doodle more than I do...which is to say not at all. I've drawn a few things, but this I am most proud of:

I was bored, the song was stuck in my head, I drew it. It looks a lot better after being photoshopped than it did on paper. I'll try and make some new stuff later.
Bye which is Good. (goodbye)

Pandora

This is an amazing internet radio service. What you do is put in an artist or song that you like, and it will find artists, and songs, that sound similar to what you put in. It sounds weird, but once you really use it, I swear you'll like it. Eventually, it felt like it was reading my freaking mind. Go there. First word in this post. Click it.

A good sounding idea

So I finish One Act Play practice, and I somehow get involved in an agreement to buy Samm some Peanut Butter M&Ms sometime. And right as we walk out the door, we both realize, and think out loud, "they should make Peanut Butter And Jelly M&Ms!!" Preferably swirled together for to make a vortex of awesomeness! I'd eat 'em. Who's with me?!
All for now, Evan

You know, I just realized something.

Me and my friends are amazing at editing things. Galen's good at photoshoping, Auriel can edit videos amazingly, and I can edit sound.
...
Holy shit, if we all teamed up, nothing would make sense to anyone anymore.
"It really happened. I have pictures, a video, and a tape recording of it."
:O

A hilarious video series

So my friend Galen told me about this a while ago, but I never watched it. It's called AMV Hell (AMV means Anime Music Video). I've never really been much for AMVs, but this was just amazing, and sometimes I couldn't stop laughing. So, go watch it, but some of it can be a bit inappropriate so I wouldn't recommend inviting parents to come watch it. (unless your parents are awesome.)

Wow...

Didn't realize you can put Twitter updates on here.....sweet! (over there ---> )Anyway, everyone should have Twitter. It's basically the "What Are You Doing Right Now" part of Facebook, and just that. You can "follow" other people's updates, get them on your cell, or even update Facebook! It's pretty sweet, go there. Now.

An awesome DS title that you all should get!

So last Sunday I go up to Ottumwa to help my mom with some grocery shopping, eat, and stuff of the sort. So while she's at Menard's, I go over to Gamestop where you can buy and sell used games. Looking through the games, I don't notice anything particually interesting, and all of the playable demos are shut off at the time. Just as I'm about to leave, I look over at the Nintendo DS titles, and behold, there it is: My Japanese Coach. Thirty bucks, a 30 day return policy, I figure "What the hell, I'll give it a shot." After buying it I had three thoughts. My first was "Holy shit, I'm gonna learn Japanese easily." Unfortuately my second thought was "Ah shit, it probably won't work very well." So I get home, pop it in to my Original DS (I gotta get a DSI when it shows up here in the states). It starts out with a mini test to see what Japanese you know already (like yes, no, good, bad, the works) until you miss 2 in a row. Once there, you start out on lessons. Each lesson gives you vocabulary, and gives you the option to see it in Romaji (Japanese with english letters), practice writing the japanese lettering, or speak it into the mic to see how your pronnunciation compares to the actual thing. About 3 days into it and I can count to 15, say the months, colors, and now I'm acutally learning Kana! (A standard of Japanese lettering, which it gave me 2 full lessons so far)
So far, this game has taught me more than I've ever been able to about Japanese than I've been able to teach myself. It's not one of those "First memorize these 40 thousand symbols that all look similar before you start learning." It eases you into it later on, and is a lot of fun. Oh right, fun: the more you play, the more games you unlock, all of which help you in getting used to the vocab and writing.
So my final verdict: if you're serious about learning Japanese, this game is for you. If not, there's a whole series of these Coach games out there (Spanish, French, even Weight Loss and Quitting Smoking!) The price tag was pretty decent, considering what I've been able to learn so far. Oh yeah, my third thought, by the way, was "Holy shit, I'm actually learning Japanese!" New language, weight loss, SAT training, need I say more? Go get one!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog. As I'm sure none of you are reading it, I guess I'll just post whatever I want, and whatever is going on (makes sense). So, I guess I'll be putting up how I'm feeling, cool things you check out, stuff like that. Take care.
